In graph 1, though R2 is low, 0.4247, but it shows that low mwt ingredients are perceived stronger than high mwt. To have a high correlation (higher R2), a further study is required to test more ingredients at low mwt (mwt<150), expecting a stronger intensity perceived.

Since there could be many factors could affect the intensity of ingredients perceived by consumers, the intensity of fragrance perceived by consumers is more complicated when ingredients are mixed together and applied into a product; because of the interaction between the molecules and interaction with the product’s base. In our experiment, molecular weight is only a guideline to pick up a strong or weak intensity ingredients; but vapour pressure is not a guideline for us to pick up an ingredient.
